Masbanat (مصبنة): Derived from the Arabic word sābūn (soap). A masbanat is a traditional soap factory or workshop well known in Tripoli - Aleppo and Nablus.

Awaida (عويضة): The name of the prestigious Lebanese family that founded and continues to operate the business.

Why do some soaps look slightly different from batch to batch?

Our soaps are handmade. Natural ingredients, temperature, and curing time create subtle variations—each batch is unique, much like homemade food.

How sustainable is your production?

Our production process is zero-waste, eco-friendly, and energy-efficient. By relying on traditional methods, long curing times, and durable products, we minimize unnecessary consumption and packaging waste.

Can visitors tour the factory?

Yes, we welcome visitors who wish to experience the soap-making process and learn about our history. Tours are available by prior arrangement.

Do your products contain SLS, chemicals, or artificial components?

Absolutely not. Our soaps are completely free from SLS, harmful chemicals, and artificial additives.

Does your soap contain sodium hydroxide (lye)?

No, sodium hydroxide does not remain in the final bar. Lye is only used in the saponification process to turn olive oil into soap. During traditional cooking and curing, it is fully used up, leaving 100% pure soap and natural glycerin.

Where do you source the scents for your soaps?

We use premium fragrances imported directly from France. By combining Tripoli’s traditional soap-making heritage with French perfumery, we create a washing experience that is both luxurious and authentic.

What kind of oil is used in Masbanat Awaida soap?

We take pride in using local Lebanese olive oil. Most of our products are olive oil-based, supporting local farmers and providing natural vitamins and minerals for healthy skin.
